what are

social groups?

Here at MPPT, a small group of children (2 to approximately 5 or so kiddos) are intentionally selected to engage in structured thematic activities, with a sensory-motor focus, to refine their pragmatic language skills.

Some of the skills that are targeted during these groups are:

  • expected (appropriate) versus unexpected (inappropriate) language & behaviors for a given time and place
  • personal space
  • conversational skills
  • tone of voice/ vocal volume
  • turn taking skills
  • word choice
  • self regulation skills & strategies
  • problem solving skills
Nevertheless, our skilled clinicians will collaborate with parents/caregivers to tailor each group to the needs of the participants scheduled.
