Neurological disorders include a wide-ranging category of pediatric conditions. This could include cerebral palsy, spina bifida, in utero stroke, hydrocephalus, traumatic brain injury, or spinal cord injury. The focus of physical therapy will be to assist your child reach their maximum potential. Children with neurological disorders are often followed by multiple specialty physicians and additional types of therapists. Your physical therapist will approach your child’s care from a team approach, working with other disciplines to help your child achieve overall goals.
